Carpenters' Union Local 93 Expresses Heartfelt Condolences to Family of Lost Brother and Carpenter
OTTAWA, March 24, 2016 /CNW/ - Executive, staff and members of Carpenters' Union Local 93 and the Carpenters' District Council of Ontario are united in mourning today as one of its respected brothers lost his life while working on a construction site yesterday morning in Ottawa.
Olivier Bruneau was a committed, dedicated and accomplished Carpenter-Apprentice as well as a valued member of the Carpenters' Union Local 93. It is incomprehensible that at just 25 years of age such a tragic and avoidable workplace incident robbed the life of Brother Bruneau. He will be remembered and missed by many.
It is with heavy hearts that we give our full support and extend condolences to Brother Olivier Bruneau's family during this profoundly devastating time. In memory of our lost Brother, provisions will be set to honor his life and assist his grieving family.
About Carpenters' District Council of Ontario
The Carpenters' District Council of Ontario ("CDC") is composed of 16 affiliated Local Unions of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners across the province. In total, we represent over 26,000 women and men working in a wide range of areas, including carpentry, drywall, resilient flooring, concrete formwork, underwater construction, welding, scaffolding, and a long list of other construction-related work. Indeed, because of our up-to-date apprenticeship and training programs, there are very few construction-related jobs outside the scope of the Carpenters' Union. In addition, our union represents many industrial workers and thousands of highly-skilled workers in Ontario's health care sector. Learn more at http://www.thecarpentersunion.ca/
