CARSTAR IS MAKING MORE THAN ACCIDENTS UNHAPPEN

The company has launched their "Make It Unhappen" social media challenge that donates to cystic fibrosis and offers a chance to go to Vegas

HAMILTON, ON, Oct 8 /CNW/ - CARSTAR Collision Centres, the country's largest national network of high quality collision repair centres, are launching a new social media initiative across Canada that promotes the company's 'Making Accidents Unhappen" theme and are raising money for cystic fibrosis (CF).

The first part of their new social challenge is on the popular social networking website, Facebook. CARSTAR wants you to like them on Facebook, and they want to pay for it. For every "like" the CARSTAR Facebook page receives, the company will donate $1 to CF to try and make it unhappen.

"Donating to CF is the part of this campaign that we're most excited about," says Lisa Mercanti-Ladd, Assistant Vice President, Marketing and Client Services at CARSTAR. "CARSTAR and our Franchise Partners are serious about CF and if we can get more people rallied around this, it will lead to a brighter future for those living with CF." CARSTAR has raised more than $1.8 million to fund research and treatment for the fight against this disease.

In addition to wanting to make CF unhappen, CARSTAR has aligned their "Where Accidents Unhappen" theme with a second online adventure. One lucky consumer and three friends could win a fabulous trip to Vegas and stay in a penthouse suite. Participants are encouraged to upload a story, picture or video outlining a moment that they wish would unhappen and post it online at carstar.ca/vegas.

The participant with the most votes on their moment to unhappen will be declared the winner and could be on their way to Vegas.

"Everyone's had a moment they wish didn't happen," says Mercanti-Ladd. "A bad date, a bad hair style… it's happened to all of us, and we want to know about yours."
