KINGSEY FALLS, QC, March 9, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Cascades, a leader in the recovery and manufacturing of green packaging and tissue products, is proud to announce its partnership with the Cross-Country Ski World Cup Finals to be held in Québec City from March 16–19. This unique partnership will support the green measures taken by the event and reduce the international competition's environmental footprint.
"We are delighted to be part of the festivities on the Plains of Abraham! Many Cascaders will be there to cheer on the athletes, particularly their favourite, new world champion Alex Harvey, whom we have been supporting for over 10 years," said Cascades President and CEO Mario Plourde. "At Cascades, our investment in athletes testifies to the importance we place on healthy young people, and on athletes' influence as positive role models for the rising generation. Cascades is proud to encourage the practice of sport and support our athletes."
As a leader in sustainable development and Canada's biggest paper recycler, Cascades will support the event in an original way, by deploying a green squad on the competition site, whose members will ensure proper management of residual materials. Reducing waste and encouraging recycling will result in an improved environmental footprint for the event. The initiative is also aimed at making citizens aware of best practices in recycling at home.
Cascades is proud to contribute to the success of the World Cup by giving new life to recovered materials, and wishes all Canadian athletes every success.
