Law firm gifts $750,000 to Western Law
TORONTO, Feb. 21, 2012 /CNW/ - Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP has donated $750,000 to Western University, supporting a unique mining law program.
"Our firm is excited about playing a role in this unique program in Canada," explains Paul Stein, co-chair of the mining group at Cassels Brock. "The program will help prepare students for the mining law and finance sector."
Mr. Stein is a graduate of Western Law and has dedicated almost 30 years to working on many of the leading corporate finance and merger and acquisition transactions in the mining industry.
With almost 60 per cent of the world's public mining companies listed on a TMX Group exchange, mining is an integral part of Canada's economy. In fact, it comprises $40 Billion of the national GDP.
