Cassels Brock Recognized by Pro Bono Ontario
TORONTO, May 19, 2016 /CNW/ - Cassels Brock is proud to have been honoured at Pro Bono Ontario's annual Awards Gala held last night in Toronto. The firm was recognized for its service to self-represented litigants through Law Help Ontario and its advocacy work for members of the College of Early Childhood Education.
The firm's Pro Bono Ontario projects represent just a portion of the litigation, employment, corporate and other legal services that members of the firm provide annually on a pro bono basis. "At Cassels Brock, we believe that we have a responsibility to assist disadvantaged or marginalized people, as well as the charitable organizations working on their behalf, in seeking legal services that could otherwise remain out of reach," said Emily Larose, Co-Chair of the firm's Pro Bono Committee. "We are extremely proud of the passion, commitment and hard work our lawyers, across many practice areas, have demonstrated in their pro bono efforts."
The Pro Bono Ontario Awards Gala honours lawyers, law firms, legal departments, law associations and governments who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to access to justice and celebrates the highest ideals of the legal profession. This year's event also marked Pro Bono Ontario's 15th anniversary.
