Rating Recognizes Catamaran's Commitment to Quality and Operational Measures

(NASDAQ: CTRX, TSX: CCT), a leading provider of technology and pharmacy benefit management (PBM) services, announced today that its Employer Group Waiver Plan (EGWP) has received a 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for the second consecutive year. The ratings measure the quality of Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plan functions such as clinical care, plan member satisfaction, customer service and patient outcomes.

CMS conducts a yearly comprehensive review of the measures that make up the plan ratings. The 5-star rating is the highest score a plan can receive and is an adjusted average of many underlying individual measures such as call center performance, drug plan quality improvement, and patient safety. Obtaining the highest score requires that the organization perform exceptionally well in the majority of areas evaluated by CMS, particularly in the area of patient safety.
