Catch the Wind signs agreement with GL Renewables Certification to certify
safety and performance of laser wind sensor
MANASSAS, VA, July 12 /CNW/ - Catch the Wind Ltd. (TSX-V: CTW), developer and manufacturer of the Vindicator(R) laser wind sensor (LWS) and other wind sensing products, announced today that it has signed an agreement with GL Renewables Certification (GL), an independent certification body for renewable energies.
The agreement contains the certification of the safety and performance of the installed Vindicator(R) LWS, which can be installed on wind turbines, to validate the functionality of wind speed, wind direction measurement and yaw control. The certification will be valid for all makes and models of utility size wind turbines.
"Our certification agreement with GL Renewables Certification, a highly respected and independent certification body, is consistent with our strategy of working with the principal players of the wind energy sector to validate the performance of the Vindicator," said Phil Rogers, President and CEO of Catch the Wind Ltd. "We believe that third-party validation of our laser wind sensing technology will result in faster market acceptance of the Vindicator as it will allow the product to be installed without voiding the manufacturer's certification."
The certification process is expected to be completed during October 2010.
