Caterpillar, Visteon and AIAG Address Conflict Minerals Challenges and Solutions on July 10th in Chicago, IL
Big market players provide insight into how they're handling their SEC reporting obligations
REUTLINGEN, Germany, June 27, 2013 /CNW/ - Companies around the globe are preparing to disclose the use of Conflict Minerals in their products. Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Act (2010) and related rules adopted by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (2012) require companies to trace the path of gold, tin, tungsten, and tantalum across their supply chains, with the first report due in May 2014 (for the 2013 calendar year).
On July 10th, 2013, iPoint-systems will be hosting a Conflict Minerals Compliance conference with talks from big market players. Caterpillar, leading OEM in the earth-moving machine sector, and Visteon, leading Tier 1 automotive supplier, will share their Conflict Minerals compliance experiences and provide insight into the specific challenges and solutions they have faced to date. Also, the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) will talk about how a leading industry association can be proactive and help guide its members to easier, quicker and more accurate solutions, focusing on the development of the iPoint Conflict Minerals Platform (iPCMP), the leading cross-industry solution. The conference attendees will also get a hands-on demo of the iPCMP by iPoint-systems, the world's leading expert in environmental product compliance and sustainability. Additionally, Tetra Tech will give an overview of the legislative background.
"This is the premier Conflict Minerals event which will allow companies and organizations to finally see the wood for the trees.
