Catholic teachers congratulate incoming Premier Wynne
Look Forward to Further Improving Education in Ontario
TORONTO, Jan. 28, 2013 /CNW/ - The Ontario English Catholic Teachers' Association (OECTA) congratulates incoming Premier Kathleen Wynne, and looks forward to working with her to address the needs of Catholic teachers and their students.
"We look forward to working with Wynne to move Ontario's education system from great to excellent," says Kevin O'Dwyer, OECTA president. "As Minister of Education, she demonstrated her ability to bring people together, to engage in meaningful dialogue and to listen. We are confident that she will bring those same skills to the role of Premier."
"Throughout her campaign, Wynne promoted strengthening the bargaining process so that it is open, fair, and respectful. We look forward to working with her to develop this new process for bargaining where all stakeholders have a voice," adds O'Dwyer.
OECTA represents the 43,000 professional women and men who teach all grades in publicly funded English Catholic schools in Ontario.
