CDW Canada survey reveals nearly 20 per cent of Canadian businesses attacked by cybercriminals in past year
Data theft and mobile device security are top concerns for companies
ETOBICOKE, ON, July 8, 2014 /CNW/ - CDW Canada, a leading provider of technology solutions for Canadian organizations in the public and private sectors, today unveiled results from a customer survey that found nearly 20 per cent of Canadian businesses were attacked by cybercriminals in the past 12 months.
The survey asked if respondents had experienced security breaches in the past year and what their primary concerns around security were. Thirty-eight per cent said they treated cybercrime as a major concern within their organization. In addition, 32 per cent cited lack of employee training for security breaches.
Organizations' primary security concern was data theft, cited by 34 per cent of respondents, followed by information on personal and mobile devices at 25 per cent.
"IT security is clearly a major issue for Canadian organizations," says Daniel Reio, Director of Marketing for CDW Canada.
