MONTRÉAL, Dec. 5, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Starting December 22, Montréal Space for Life is inviting everyone to escape the freezing temperatures and join in a festive program of activities at the Biodôme. Come on a Tropical Adventure to see the animals in the Tropical Forest starring in an entertaining puppet theatre show and in a unique educational play area. And on December 26, it's Christmas for the Animals as the mammals, fish and birds in the Biodôme's five ecosystems get to celebrate, too!
Tropical Adventure at the Biodôme – December 22, 2017 to February 11, 2018
Visitors of all ages are sure to chuckle at our puppet theatre performance. In Capy's Big Day, our little capybara has decided that he wants to be king of the forest! Young kids can have fun playing and learning at the "Beaks and Bandaids" rescue centre, as they take on the role of apprentice veterinarians and pretend to help out the animal keepers. Then, on December 26, Christmas for the Animals offers visitors a unique opportunity to see them using all their ingenuity in an enrichment activity as they "unwrap" their gifts – their favourite food.
Other great reasons to visit Montréal Space for Life over the holidays
At the Botanical Garden, it's a more positive kind of greenhouse effect! Visitors will be amazed by the approximately 3,000 specimens in our nine thematic greenhouses: our prestigious collections of penjing (miniature trees in containers), orchids, cacti, tropical food plants and begoniaceae, to mention only a few! At the Insectarium, it's the perfect time to listen to our enthusiastic educators talking about Insects in Winter and to get a closer look at the world of insects, those misunderstood champions of Nature. At the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium, the new EXO and Space Next double feature is bound to lead to some interesting discussions about astronomy and humanity. Lastly, don't miss the gift shops at the Biodôme, Botanical Garden and Planetarium, where you can pick up some unique holiday presents on a nature- or science-related theme.
