Celebrating 10 homes in 10 years: BILD members raise $20,000 for Habitat for Humanity Toronto
GREATER TORONTO, Nov. 21, 2013 /CNW/ - The Building Industry and Land Development Association's (BILD) fifth annual Party for Humanity raised more than $20,000 for Habitat for Humanity Toronto as the industry celebrated helping 10 Habitat families into 10 homes in 10 years.
The event was attended by more than 400 industry professionals, who arrived at Muzik nightclub at Exhibition Place in Toronto, dressed according to the theme: jeans, jackets and jewels.
Fundraising efforts were aided by a silent auction and raffle. Those who entered the raffle were given gold, red and green beaded necklaces.
"This event has been a tremendous success every year, and this year was special because we've helped build 10 homes in 10 years with Habitat for Humanity Toronto. We couldn't have been happier with the crowd or the venue," said BILD president and CEO Bryan Tuckey. "Our industry is committed to giving back to the community, and our team at BILD always makes great efforts to support our community partner, Habitat, and has a fun time doing it."
BILD's Party for Humanity is one of four major fundraisers for Habitat for Humanity Toronto. The Association has supported the charity since 2003 and has since raised more than $640,000 toward its goal of building affordable homes for low-income families.
BILD would like to thank all of the event sponsors, volunteers and participants and congratulate everyone involved in making it a highly successful event. For more information, visit the official blog at bildblogs.ca, find bildgta on Facebook or follow @bildgta on Twitter.
