Celebrating Canada's Courageous Animal Heroes
Life-saving pets to be honoured at the 45th annual Purina Animal Hall of Fame Ceremony
TORONTO, May 2, 2013 /CNW/ - Three fearless pets and one valiant service animal will be recognized for their life-saving feats on Monday, May 6th at the 45th annual Purina Animal Hall of Fame.
These remarkable four-legged heroes join the ranks of other dogs and cats that have come to the rescue in dire situations to protect and ultimately save a human life. Their incredible stories demonstrate not only bravery, loyalty and devotion, but also the unique bond that exists between pets and people.
For the past 45 years, Purina has paid tribute to courageous Canadian cats, dogs and even a horse, inducting 159 extraordinary animals into the Purina Animal Hall of Fame. The 2013 inductees have been carefully selected from numerous cross country nominations submitted by those who have been impacted by the heroic acts exhibited by a pet or service animal over the past year.
Held at PawsWay (located at Toronto's Harbourfont), the 45th Anniversary induction ceremony will be hosted by television personality Steve Anthony and feature inductee presentations from special guests, Barbara Steinhoff, Aliya-Jasmine Sovani, Patrick McKenna and Constable Tara McLorn.
