Celebrating Diversity in Parliament Reception on May 18 at Ottawa City Hall
OTTAWA, May 12, 2016 /CNW/ - The National Council on Canada-Relations (NCCAR) and the Canadian Arab Institute (CAI) are hosting a reception in recognition of Canadian Arab Members of Parliament elected in 2015, and in honour of the first elected Canadian Arab parliamentarian, the Honourable Pierre De Bané, P.C., Q.C., for his 45 years of service in the House of Commons and Senate.
The reception will be an opportunity for members of the public to meet local and federal politicians, members of the diplomatic community, academics, and community and faith leaders. Proceeds from the event will fund scholarships for Syrian newcomers and NCCAR's parliamentary internships.
