TORONTO, Oct. 5, 2016 /CNW/ - ETALK celebrates the progress in global health and development with an all-new special, ETALK PRESENTS: GLOBAL CITIZEN. Premiering Monday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CTV, this half-hour special features highlights and exclusive interviews from GLOBAL CITIZEN: A CONCERT TO END AIDS, TUBERCULOSIS AND MALARIA. Hosted by ETALK Reporter Liz Trinnear, the special delivers exclusive interviews from the blue carpet and from an unrivalled backstage position; and stage highlights, including a full length performance from R&B icon and multi-Grammy winner Usher accompanied by The Roots. ETALK PRESENTS: GLOBAL CITIZEN, filmed at the Bell Centre in Montréal on September 17, informs viewers about how musicians, actors, and change-makers can influence the fight against AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria globally alongside with Canadians.

ETALK's Liz Trinnear interviews special guest Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, who speak about the importance of Canadian engagement with the rest of the world to bring about change and improve the lives of those impacted by disease. She also speaks with the stars and activists attending the September 17th event about using their voice to contribute to the fight against AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria. R&B icon Usher; philanthropist Bill Gates; actress Diane Kruger; Canadian musicians Charlotte Cardin, Metric's Emily Haines, and Sam Roberts; and Africa Rising Foundation co-founder Kweku Mandela talk about Global Citizen's power to engage youth and make an impact globally; and Canada's key involvement in the campaign, which saw $13 billion raised for the Global Fund's replenishment.
