Centennial College partners with Canada Helps this #GivingTuesday
TORONTO, Nov. 26, 2018 /CNW/ - Centennial College has been chosen as one of 12 charities across Canada to be an exclusive partner of Canada Helps this GivingTuesday, which takes place tomorrow, November 27.
This year marks the first time that Centennial College is formally participating in GivingTuesday. The college's mission is to make an impact in the lives of students, in part by raising much-need funds for scholarships.
In the spirit of philanthropy, some of the GivingTuesday events taking place tomorrow at Centennial's Progress Campus involve a day of random acts of kindness, including free breakfasts; thank-you card signing for faculty and donors; selling cookiegrams for scholarships; and launching the First Impressions clothing store, which provides students with business apparel for job interviews and work.

About GivingTuesday
In 2013, Canada Helps co-founded GivingTuesday together with GIV3. Born out of a weekend of excessive consumerism, including both Black Friday and Cyber Monday, GivingTuesday became the day on the calendar for each of us to celebrate giving back to our communities.
This year, more than 6 million Canadians and over 6,000 charities and businesses across the country are expected to unite for GivingTuesday. Since 2013, GivingTuesday has seen a 468% increase in dollars donated. Considering that charities generate almost half (47%) of their total donations in the last three months of the year, and an astounding 30% in December, it is clearly now more important than ever for Canadian charities to get off to a strong start to the holiday giving season.
