Centennial College rolls out new assistance for small businesses

TORONTO, Aug. 19, 2016 /CNW/ - The Centre of Entrepreneurship (CoE) at Centennial College has unveiled new training programs tailored for entrepreneurs who are looking for guidance in starting and growing a small enterprise.

CoE's Soft Landing program is intended for small Canadian companies that plan on expanding into the United States, or similarly, European firms interested in entering the North American market. Some of the services provided are market research and market entry knowledge, including import and export laws, regulatory assistance and immigration and visa supports. To be considered, applicants must be legally permitted to operate in the chosen market, be generating revenues, and have a proven management team. The Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP) supports local businesses by assisting in the development of marketing strategy, business planning and development support at no cost. The program supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that qualify with 2 to 499 employees, are located in the Greater Toronto Area, and have been approved by IRAP.
