BEACONSFIELD, QC, July 20, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Rental activities for light recreational watercraft will resume at Centennial Park as of tomorrow in line with regular activities and hours.
Rental activities had been suspended on Thursday afternoon in the wake of the drowning of a man in the waters of Lake Saint-Louis. Following the police investigation which was transferred to the Coroner's Office, the site will resume its regular activities as of tomorrow morning.
The mayor of Beaconsfield, Georges Bourelle, reiterates that recreational boating activities must be carried out in accordance with the safety rules issued by Transport Canada and the Lifesaving Society. These organizations recommend wearing a personal floating device all the time while practicing an activity on water.
"It is a matter of life. On water, an accident can happen very quickly and may lead to tragic consequences within no time. Enjoy the magnificent Lake Saint-Louis safely and for a long time by acting responsibly and respecting the safety rules," beckons Mayor Bourelle.
