Centre de recherche du CHUM: Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton salutes the inauguration and issues a call for mobilization Français
MONTREAL, Oct. 8, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - On this official inauguration day of Centre de recherche du Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CRCHUM), Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton wishes to reaffirm its pride in having participated in the achievement of this major project, and of Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CHUM), which will open its doors in 2016. At the same time, it emphasizes the importance of adopting, as a society, the means to attract research companies and major talent from the healthcare field.
The President and Chief Executive Officer, Emilio B. Imbriglio, who worked on the financial setup of these projects when he was responsible for the Corporate Financial Consulting Group, pointed out that "for Montréal and Québec as a whole, we can seize the opportunities offered by the opening of the CRCHUM and the construction of the CHUM now underway, to give us the means to achieve our ambitions. This major magnet for research companies in the life sciences sector and organizations working in the healthcare field deserve more government support to attract talent and investment from here and abroad. All the players, whether public or private, have the possibility of cooperating to favour job creation and stimulate the economy. Only by working together will we succeed in making the Quartier de la santé de Montréal a place for innovation through excellence, recognized worldwide and envied by all. Let us give ourselves the means to achieve our ambitions and work for the success of our healthcare magnet".
Remember that, as of 2006, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton played a key role in advising Infrastructure Québec in the negotiations that led, in 2011, to the closing of the financial agreement for the CRCHUM and the CHUM, in addition to deploying the financing and procurement structure of these two strategic institutions.
Several awards have been presented to the CHUM and its research centre, with which Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton is associated. In New York, in 2012, Le consortium CHUM-Collectif received the award for North American Project Bond Deal of the Year 2011 and the highly prestigious Overall North America Project Finance Deal of the Year 2011. More recently, the CHUM, Collectif Santé Montréal and Infrastructure Québec received the 2012 Gold Project Finance Award of the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP) for construction of the new CHUM.
"Needless to say, our infrastructure finance team applied its talents in the service of the Québec Government to make these public institutions structuring projects for the entire Québec economy. I would again like to congratulate all my colleagues for their exemplary work. I also wish to emphasize the quality of the work of all the participants in these projects. All the CHUM partners can boast that, each in their own way, they made it possible for Québec expertise to shine in North America and internationally," Mr. Imbriglio concluded.
