TORONTO, April 26, 2017 /CNW/ - Cervélo is proud to announce a donation of ten C3 bicycles to Wounded Warriors Canada in support of their VIMY 100 Battlefield Bike Ride fundraising efforts. Beginning June 9th in London, England, 150 Canadians will cycle over 600kms in 6 days to reach the iconic Vimy Ridge memorial. The Battlefield Bike Ride represents the single largest annual fundraiser for Wounded Warriors Canada, with the funds raised directly supporting their mental health programs and services benefiting ill and injured Canadian Forces members, Veterans, First Responders and their families.
Scott Maxwell, Executive Director of Wounded Warriors Canada commented, "Cervélo is the reason we were able to get involved in cycling. Since 2012, the company has been generously donating their world class bikes to not only help us fundraise, but to help inspire ill and injured Veterans to become active again. The company and its employees are passionately committed to health and wellness and understand the positive impact of cycling for both body and mind. We are extremely grateful for their ongoing support."
Glen Innes, WWC BBR17 Ride Director and Cervélo Territory Manager, commented, "Here at Cervélo we understand how important a healthy body is to a healthy mind. If we can get more ill and injured Veterans and First Responders riding bicycles we can aid them in their battle with this and other Operational Stress Injuries."
