Ceryx Delivers Unified Communications for the Enterprise
Microsoft Office Communications Server provides functionality ranging from corporate-grade Instant Messaging and Presence to complete Unified Communications including full VOIP integration. The full Unified Communications solution allows organizations to dramatically reduce telephony costs by replacing their traditional phone systems with VOIP systems and benefit from tight audio, video and text messaging integration across office phone, Microsoft Outlook and mobile devices.
Ceryx will be supporting integration with legacy PBX/PSTN switches currently supported by Microsoft in order to provide choice to organizations facing telephony upgrades. Ceryx will also be supporting federation with business partners, content archiving with multiple vendors and public IM connectivity.
"Ceryx is committed to the Microsoft platform and continues to develop it's long-term road map based on the market leader in messaging," says Gus Harsfai, CEO and President of Ceryx Inc. "We also recognize that many organizations have made significant investments in other technologies and we are focused on delivering solutions that can leverage and integrate those investments."
According to a report by Gartner research, by 2012, 20% of UC (Unified Communications) users will be serviced via the vendor-delivered SaaS model. The report goes on to state that many organizations will balk at the cost and complexity of internally supporting UC, as well as the required capital investment. They will instead be attracted to the SaaS model, whereby a monthly fee is paid for each subscribing employee.
"OCS is a highly functional and flexible SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) controller that has allowed us to build our own SIP filters to secure our multi-tenant environment," says
Ceryx Hosted OCS standard, which includes secure, corporate-grade Instant Messaging and Presence, Peer-to-Peer Video and Audio chat as well as tight integration with Exchange and SharePoint will be available immediately.
