(RUDE, POOR BOY'S GAME) begins the evening with an inspiring conversation about black representation in cinema with Academy Award(R)-nominated filmmaker and CFC founder Norman Jewison (IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT, A SOLDIER'S STORY, THE HURRICANE) and a very special guest TBA.
After the discussion audiences will enjoy a special screening of the 1967 classic "IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT", directed by Norman Jewison. This critically acclaimed five-time Oscar-winning film, starring
Sidney Poitier
and
Rod Steiger
, signaled a shift in the depiction of the black hero at the height of the Civil Rights Movement.
