Outgoing Chair Leslee Thompson to head Accreditation Canada
OTTAWA, Dec. 17, 2015 /CNW/ - The Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement today announced the appointment of board member Lynn Stevenson as Chair of its Board of Directors, effective immediately. Dr. Stevenson replaces Leslee Thompson who has chaired CFHI's Board since March 2014.
Lynn Stevenson is the Associate Deputy Minister of Health in the B.C. Ministry of Health, responsible for the health services portfolio. She is a registered nurse by profession, with her PhD focusing on organizational change, practice and leadership. She is a graduate of CFHI's EXTRA: Executive Training Program, and holds Adjunct Professor positions in the Schools of Nursing at both UBC and the University of Victoria. Read her full biography.
Following a seven-year tenure as President and CEO of Kingston General Hospital, Ms. Thompson assumes the role of President and CEO of Accreditation Canada on February 1, 2016. Accreditation Canada is a not-for-profit organization that accredits healthcare and social services organizations in Canada and around the world. She led Kingston General through a major transformation after having worked in the private sector.
