CFHI's New Board Members: Janet Davidson, Deputy Minister of Alberta Health and Murray Ross, Vice President at Kaiser Permanente Français
OTTAWA, June 27, 2014 /CNW/ - The Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement today announced the election of Janet Davidson and Murray Ross to its Board of Directors, for three-year terms beginning October 1, 2014.
Janet Davidson was appointed Deputy Minister of Alberta Health in September 2013. Previously, she was the Official Administrator of Alberta Health Services. She brings over 30 years of experience in healthcare in the government, voluntary and hospital sectors in a number of Canadian jurisdictions. She currently holds the position of Vice Chair on the Board of the Canadian Institute for Health Information and is a member of a number of other boards such as the Institute of Health Economics, Mental Health Commission of Canada and the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer.
Ms. Davidson is an Officer of the Order of Canada and has been named twice to the list of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women. In 2011 and 2012 she was also named as one of Canada's Top 25 Most Influential Women.
Murray Ross is Vice President, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. He leads the Kaiser Permanente Institute for Health Policy in Oakland, California. Dr. Ross brings the valuable ability to absorb and synthesize complex healthcare issues and to explain the practical implications of market developments and public policies to healthcare decision makers.
Dr. Ross speaks frequently to domestic and international audiences on a wide range of healthcare topics and serves on the boards of a number of academic and non-profit organizations. Before joining Kaiser Permanente in 2002, Dr. Ross was a policy advisor to the United States Congress.
