CFL Playoffs Kick-Off with Record Audiences for TSN

TORONTO, Nov. 15 /CNW/ - The opening weekend of the CFL playoffs has delivered classic games and a record audience for TSN. Overnight data from BBM Canada confirms the BC-Saskatchewan overtime thriller on Sunday had an average audience of 2 million viewers - making it the most-watched CFL semifinal playoff game ever recorded.
The audience peaked at 3.3 million viewers as the game went into overtime.
Earlier in the day, TSN's broadcast of the Toronto @ Hamilton Eastern semifinal attracted an average audience of 1.1 million viewers. The audience peaked at 2 million viewers as the Argos wrapped up the victory with a late game interception.
Overall, more than 7.2 million Canadians tuned into to watch some of the CFL Playoffs on TSN on Sunday with an additional 30,000 viewers * watching the games online at TSN.ca.
CFL playoff action continues on TSN and TSN.ca this weekend with the Eastern Finals on Sunday, Nov. 21 featuring Toronto @ Montreal at 1 p.m. ET, followed by the Western Finals featuring Saskatchewan @ Calgary at 4 p.m. ET. The CFL ON TSN panel will be live on location from McMahon Stadium in Calgary for both games.
The 2010 GREY CUP in Edmonton will be broadcast live on TSN and TSN.ca on Sunday, Nov. 28 with coverage beginning at 1 p.m. ET.
