CGA-BC Announces 2014 Chair and Executive Committee

VANCOUVER, Jan. 1, 2014 /CNW/ - The Certified General Accountants Association of British Columbia (CGA-BC) is pleased to announce that David Sale, DiplT, MBA, CPA, FCGA, has been elected Chair of the Association's Board of Governors for 2014.
Mr. Sale is a professor of accounting at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Joining him on the Association's Executive Committee are:
- Brian Friedrich, BA, MEd, CPA, FCGA, who will serve as First Vice-Chair. Mr. Friedrich is a principal of friedrich & friedrich corporation, a consulting firm based in Surrey.
- Candace Nancke, CPA, FCGA, who will serve as Past-Chair and Treasurer. Mrs. Nancke is the Managing Partner of Loren, Nancke & Company, Certified General Accountants in North Vancouver and New Westminster.
- Gordon Ruth, BA, CPA, FCGA, who will serve as Secretary of the Board of Governors. Mr. Ruth is the Association's Chief Executive Officer.
BC's professional accounting bodies, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC (ICABC), the Certified General Accountants Association of BC (CGA-BC), and the Certified Management Accountants Society of BC (CMABC), have signed a merger agreement and are working together to establish the Chartered Professional Accountants of BC (CPABC). Currently, accounting bodies representing all of Canada's professional accountants in every jurisdiction are committed to unification or have already merged under the CPA banner.
