Leveraging commercial and federal expertise, CGI becomes strategic partner to storied commercial aerospace company for digital transformation of IT systems and cloud migration
FAIRFAX, VA, April 19, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - CGI (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A) announced the award of an enterprise contract from California-based Aerojet Rocketdyne for transformation of the legendary aerospace company's legacy information technology (IT) systems to a highly secure hybrid IT environment. Under the full IT outsourcing agreement, CGI will unify disparate technologies, simplify mobile platforms and lead overall transformation of Aerojet Rocketdyne systems to a next-generation architecture across the enterprise.

In support of Aerojet Rocketdyne's IT transformation, CGI will provide the technology, consulting services, frameworks and practices needed to secure and manage the organization's entire IT portfolio as well as create cohesive strategies that align IT to business objectives and maximize IT investments as a result. CGI will deploy its Unify360 solution to digitally enable the transformation from a legacy to next-generation IT environment that drives cost savings, is secure and compliant, and is flexible and agile to meet the business' changing needs.

In addition, CGI announced that it will perform work on behalf of Aerojet Rocketdyne through its network of U.S. onshore IT services delivery centers.
