FAIRFAX, VA, Aug. 16 /CNW Telbec/ - CGI Group Inc. (NYSE: GIB; TSX: GIB.A), a leading provider of information technology and business process services, today announced the launch of Medicaid Incentive360, a new end-to-end service to manage states' Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Payment Program. CGI's new service will allow states to be up and running in time to accept registrations by January 2011, meeting the schedule set out by the federal government.
Across the U.S., states are challenged to meet the tight deadlines, complex requirements, and staffing needs required to handle the thousands of hospitals, doctors, and other healthcare professionals applying for funding to install electronic medical records systems as a part of healthcare reform. CGI's end-to-end business process service manages all aspects of a state's Medicaid EHR Incentive Payment Program (MEIPP) and the solution is compatible with all existing state MMIS systems. From registration through attestation, payment processing, auditing, and reporting, CGI's service is designed to enable Medicaid agencies to implement program requirements on-time and without undue risk, burden, or cost.
In addition to meeting EHR incentive program launch dates, states can minimize disruption to current operations, establish predictable payment schedules and defined service level agreements, and accurately track incentive payments. CGI's comprehensive service provides the people, processes, and technology needed to streamline this complex operation via an easy-to-use portal.
"States need help today to get Medicaid EHR Incentive Payment systems up and running as well as fully staffed," said Holli Ploog, Vice-President, CGI's Health and Human Services Programs. "Leveraging our national healthcare knowledge and 30 years of state and local industry experience, CGI is able to bring this service to market quickly. Our solution saves time and minimizes risk while allowing states to maintain control and accountability."
