MONTRÉAL, Dec. 1, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - On February 5, the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal will host former First Lady Michelle Obama, as part of its Bell International Leaders series.
"The Chamber is pleased to host Michelle Obama, former First Lady of the United States," said Michel Leblanc, president and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal. "With her principles, leadership and social involvement, Michelle Obama embodies leadership and the will to change; she is a role model for younger generations around the world. She is widely credited with having transformed the role of the First Lady and her involvement in society."
"After President Barack Obama's visit, we received many requests to have Michelle Obama speak," Mr. Leblanc said. "We are proud to play host to such a distinguished guest to kick off 2018."
A lawyer by profession, Michelle Obama has worked in community and social settings. She is involved with many causes, namely the promotion of human rights and a more egalitarian society, particularly educational issues. In 2015, she created the international program "Let Girls Learn."

The Chamber has played host to many prominent speakers as part of its Bell International Leaders series, including President Barack Obama, President Nicolas Sarkozy, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, Prime Minister Manuel Valls, President Bill Clinton, Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, President Mikhail Gorbachev, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and President George W. Bush.
