CALGARY, June 6, 2017 /CNW/ - Rogers Insurance Account Executive Bryce Kumka accepted the highly coveted Chamber of the Year award at the Alberta Chambers of Commerce Annual General Meeting on May 25th-27th in Leduc. Kumka is the Fort McMurray Chamber President and was honoured with the Executive Director, Alexis Foster.
The Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce played a pivotal role for businesses re-entering Fort McMurray after the evacuation from the fires in 2016. The Chamber created a Business Recovery Task Force, submitted a grant proposal for relief funding to the Provincial Government, sat on a Business Resource Centre stakeholder committee and kept evacuees updated via social media.
"The Fort McMurray Chamber was incredibly busy in 2016, actively fostering the growth of the business community after so much devastation," said Bryce Kumka, "We are so grateful for our work to be recognized by this award, and we look forward to the continued economic development in the area."
Bryce Kumka, a proud leader at Rogers, has over 25 years' experience in the insurance industry and brings this expertise to his role as President of the Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce. The chamber acted as a main point of information for businesses during the evacuation period, throughout the re-entry and rebuild of Fort McMurray.
