Champlain Bridge Area: Pavement beginning at L'Île-des-Sœurs - Highway
15 - two out of three lanes closed towards Montreal, July 2, 3, and 4
LONGUEUIL, QC, June 30 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) wish to announce that two out of three lanes will be closed on Highway 15 North at L'Île-des-Sœurs in two phases from July 2 to July 4:
- Phase 1 - Friday, July 2, 10 PM to Saturday, July 3, at 12 PM - Phase 2 - Saturday, July 3, at Midnight to Sunday, July 4 at 2 PM
Traffic may be heavier on the Champlain Bridge towards Montreal on Saturday and Sunday morning. Motorists are encouraged to use the other bridges in the South Shore during the construction period. To better visualize these two phases of construction, we invite you to consult our maps : (phase 1 - http://bit.ly/brYwdp / phase 2 - http://bit.ly/bgjka7)
Also note that during the second phase of construction, Exits 57 and 58 of Highway 15 North will be closed. The detour will be via Exit 60 on Highway 15 North, to access the Bonaventure Expressway or make a U-Turn at the Pierre-Dupuy Exit to access L'Île-des-Sœurs from Exit 4 of the Bonaventure Expressway and Exit 57-S of Highway 15 South.
The Ramp 3, which allows access to Highway 15 North via L'Île-des-Sœurs, will also be completely closed during this second phase. Residents of L'Île-des-Sœurs who wish to use Highway 15 North are asked to take the Bonaventure Expressway via the traffic circle 2 (Alexander-Graham-Bell) and perform a U-turn at the Pierre Dupuy Exit. From there, they can access Highway 15 North via Exit 4 of the Bonaventure Expressway.
The purpose of these closures is for the levelling, paving, and marking of 3 traffic lanes between the beginning of the Champlain Bridge and the L'Île-des-Sœurs Bridge, in the northern direction. This progress of this work is dependent on the weather conditions. Finally, please note that the speed limit will remain at 50 km/h in construction zones, and motorists are encouraged to use caution and respect the temporary speed limit allowed.
