Champlain Bridge: Closure of One out of Three Lanes Saturday February 18 from 6 AM to 5 PM
LONGUEUIL, QC, Feb. 17, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) wishes to inform motorists that inspection work will be taking place on the Champlain Bridge during the day on Saturday, February 18 and will require the closure of one out of three lanes from 6 AM to 5 PM towards Montreal, then towards the South Shore, alternately, at the bridge's steel structure.
Ahead of the 2012-2013 roadwork season, such inspection work enables us to better plan the work to be carried out in the coming year. In order to ensure the workers' safety (for which the lift will be raised above the lanes and underneath the bridge) and to facilitate the quality of the visual inspections being carried out, the work will take place during the day.
Given that there will be no roadwork on the Honoré-Mercier, Jacques-Cartier and Victoria Bridges, this work should not have a considerable impact on traffic. However, we invite road users to use these alternate options over the course of this period.
