Champlain Bridge Corridor to be Avoided: Confirmation of major work blitz taking place over the long weekend (May 18, 19, 20 & 21) Français
LONGUEUIL, QC, May 18, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) would like to advise road users that, given the weather forecast announced, the major work blitz will begin on the Champlain Bridge corridor this Friday evening May 18 at 10 p.m. This blitz will continue over the long weekend, and end on Tuesday, May 22, at 5 a.m.
During this period, one lane will be open to circulation in each direction on Highway 15, at the bridge entrance. On the Champlain Bridge, two lanes will be open towards the South Shore and one lane will be open towards Montreal.
It is important to note that during this period lane width will be reduced to 3 meters on the Champlain Corridor, in both directions. Vehicles exceeding this width should take alternate routes.
Also note that during this period, the access ramps to the Champlain Bridge via Route 132 will be completely closed, along with other ramps on Highway 15, on the Montreal side of the bridge. (Full details on www.champlainbridge.ca).
Remember that this major work blitz will continue over the upcoming weekends. To follow the work on the Champlain Bridge corridor, which is subject to changes according to weather conditions, road users are invited to regularly visit our blog www.champlainbridge.ca to plan their weekend trips.
