Champlain Bridge Corridor to be Avoided: Work BLITZ to continue this weekend starting on the night of Friday, June 1st Français
LONGUEUIL, QC, May 30, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) would like to inform road users that the major work blitz will continue on the Champlain Bridge corridor over the coming weekend, beginning on the night of Friday, June 1st. These work blitzes, contingent on the weather, will allow us to carry out paving work, repair the roadway and replace expansion joints.
Please note that if the work cannot be completed due to weather conditions, it will be postponed until the weekend of June 16 and 17, since no work will be taking place on the Champlain Bridge over the Grand-Prix weekend. Depending on the weather forecast, a notice will be published on our blog (www.champlainbridge.ca) at 3:30 p.m. this Friday to inform road users of the work scheduled for the weekend.
Between Friday, 10 p.m. to Monday, 5 a.m., only one lane will be open to circulation in each direction on Highway 15, between Atwater and L'Île-des-Sœurs Bridge. On the Champlain Bridge, two lanes will be open towards Montreal and one lane will be open towards the South Shore.
Just like the past weekends, it is important to note that during this period lane width will be reduced to 3 meters in both directions, on the Champlain Bridge Corridor. Vehicles exceeding this width should take alternate routes.
Also note that during this period the exit ramp from the Champlain Bridge to Route 132 will be completely closed. Other ramps will also be closed on Highway 15, on the Montreal side of the bridge (full details on www.champlainbridge.ca).
Remember that this major work blitz will continue over the upcoming weekends. To follow the work on the Champlain Bridge corridor, which is subject to changes according to weather conditions, road users are invited to regularly visit our blog www.champlainbridge.ca to plan their weekend trips.
