LONGUEUIL, QC, June 1, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) would like to inform road users that the roadwork scheduled to take place on the Champlain Bridge corridor this weekend (June 2 & 3), will be postponed due to the expected weather conditions. Please note that all lanes will be open to traffic during the weekend.
There will be only the closure of two lanes out of three on the L'Île-des-Soeurs Bridge towards Montréal from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Saturday morning. A first lane out of three will be close as of 9 p.m.
The roadwork will be postponed until the weekend of June 16 and 17, since no work will be done on the Champlain Bridge over the Grand-Prix weekend.
Let us remind you that in order to reduce the amount of traffic hindrances, significant efforts have been made to concentrate work during spring, mostly over weekends. For example, last year there were 10 major weekend closures on the Champlain Bridge corridor, while this year the Corporation plans to have three to six major work weekends, depending on weather conditions, which is essentially twice as few. As of today, our Corporation has completed significant work over two weekends.

To follow the work on the Champlain Bridge corridor, which is subject to changes depending on weather conditions, road users are invited to regularly visit our blog www.champlainbridge.ca to plan their weekend trips.
