Allied Properties Real Estate Investment Trust is now a partner of the Electric Circuit
MONTREAL, Jan. 30, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The founding partners of the Electric Circuit—Les Rôtisseries St-Hubert, RONA, METRO, the Agence métropolitaine de transport (AMT) and Hydro-Québec—are pleased to announce the signing of a partnership agreement with Allied Properties Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) to install four public charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs). Visitors will soon be able to charge their vehicles in the indoor parking lots of Allied's buildings located in the heart of the Cité du Multimédia in Old Montréal.
"Allied Properties REIT is committed to sustainable development," said Micheal Emory, President and CEO. "We are proud to offer this new charging service for electric vehicles to our tenants in the Cité du Multimédia, their customers as well as visitors to Old Montréal. This concrete step is one example of how our concern for the environment translates into action. These charging stations are an added value to the range of services we offer our community."
"We are delighted to welcome Allied Properties REIT, a company committed to sustainability," said Pierre-Luc Desgagné, Vice President - Public and Government Affairs at Hydro-Québec, on behalf of the founding partners of the Electric Circuit. About the Electric Circuit
The Electric Circuit is a major initiative in the rollout of charging infrastructure needed to support the arrival of plug-in vehicles in Québec.
The Electric Circuit is the largest public charging network in Québec, with close to 250 Level 2 (240-V) charging stations and one fast-charge (400-V) station in operation in parking lots of the AMT, RONA stores, Metro grocery stores and St-Hubert restaurants throughout Québec. Since its launch in March 2012, 56 private and institutional partners have joined the Electric Circuit. It will continue to expand in order to offer greater geographical coverage and serve more EV drivers in many regions of Québec.
Electric Circuit users have access to a 24/7 telephone help line run by CAA-Québec, as well as a charging station locator service. The Electric Circuit Web site, www.theelectriccircuit.com, is updated as new stations are installed or commissioned.
