MONTREAL, Oct. 26, 2016 /CNW/ - Chartwell Retirement Residences Canada's largest owner and operator of seniors housing communities, in partnership with Bâtimo inc. and EMD Construction inc., is pleased to announce a new retirement residence in the borough of Saint-Hubert, in Longueuil, Quebec. The new residence, Chartwell Le St-Gabriel, will feature 345 suites, including 278 independent living suites, a 32 suite Assisted Living area and 35 condos. Boasting picturesque and charming country-style architecture, Chartwell Le St-Gabriel represents an investment of $60 million dollars with construction expected to employ a total of 500 people. Approximately 40 permanent jobs will be created once the residence is fully operational. This retirement residence is the third development announced by Chartwell in partnership with Bâtimo and EMD in 2016, in Quebec, which also includes Chartwell Le Prescott in Vaudreuil-Dorion and Chartwell Le Montcalm in Candiac. The first move-ins at Chartwell Le St-Gabriel are planned for the spring of 2018.
The property will offer bright and spacious suites for active seniors in the Saint-Hubert community, with the peace of mind of knowing that additional support is available on-site. Residents will have access to numerous amenities, including an arts and crafts room, a pool, gym and yoga studio, while also having the opportunity to relax over a coffee or a glass of wine with friends in the bistro or dining areas. The residence, easily accessible by highways 30 and 116 as well as road 112, is a short walk from Carrefour St-Hubert, offering groceries, a pharmacy, SAQ and many restaurants. Also in close proximity is Longueuil's beautiful Parc de la Cité, the Raymond-Lévesque Library and a Local Community Service Centre (CLSC).
"After our announcements in the past year of new Chartwell residences in both Vaudreuil-Dorion and Candiac, we are thrilled to continue growing our presence in Quebec," said Maxime Camerlain, Chartwell's Vice President of Marketing. "Saint-Hubert is a great location for seniors to stay active and involved in a thriving community with family and friends nearby, while benefiting from a lifestyle which includes a variety of services and programs on-site with easy access to nearby amenities."
"For the third time in the past year, Bâtimo and EMD are proud to announce their partnership with Chartwell for the construction of a new residence that will meet the highest standards of quality in the industry," said Francis Charron, Bâtimo inc. President.
The new location will join Chartwell's existing network of 42 residences across the province and more than 180 locations across Canada. With an anticipated opening for the residence in spring 2018, the Presentation Centre is expected to be open mid-November and will be located in the Carrefour Saint-Hubert on Cousineau Boulevard. "We are proud to be bringing our vision of Making People's Lives Better and our values of RESPECT to even more seniors in Quebec," adds Mr. Camerlain. More information can be found on LeStGabriel.ca
