TORONTO, May 13, 2013 /CNW/ - Chatelaine aims to make "Everyday Extraordinary"—and it did just that and more for 70 happy audience members at the recent taping of Cityline, when the iconic women's brand gave away major prizes from Porter, Roots, Royal Doulton, the Right Hand Gal and more. When the Cityline episode airs tomorrow at 9 a.m. ET/PT on City stations across the country, five lucky viewers will have the chance to win the exact same prizes.
Chatelaine is officially kicking off its "85 Extraordinary Moments" anniversary celebration today as its unprecedented eight-cover June issue hits newsstands and the history-making Chatelaine Edition on Cityline episode is about to air. The "85 Extraordinary Moments" of 2013 will continue through the summer (with opportunities for Chatelaine fans to win prizes and experiences through the magazine, website and social media) and peak in September when the leading women's brand will hold a gala with more prizing (attendees might even need their passports!).
"This has been an exciting time of growth and expansion for the Chatelaine brand, and as we hit the '85-years-young' mark, we want to celebrate with our readers and viewers, without whom our longevity and ongoing success would not have been possible," said Chatelaine Publisher Tara Tucker. "We are fortunate to have a partnership with Cityline and are delighted to make television history with them with the biggest-ever Canadian studio audience giveaway."
Double Anniversary Issue
Behind the eight different covers of Chatelaine's June anniversary issue are stories on the biggest newsmakers over the 85 years, highlights of vintage pages and an eye-opening showcase of "then and now" food, fashion and decor.
"Canadian women have been on an ever-changing journey over the past 85 years, and it was fascinating to dig through the archives for this special issue," said Chatelaine Editor-in-Chief Jane Francisco. "I discovered what hasn't changed is that Chatelaine is and continues to be a place where women openly share and discuss what is most important to them in the now, whether it is 1928 or 2013."
Chatelaine is currently in growth mode. The iconic brand, now the #1 Canadian magazine in paid circulation, recently re-launched chatelaine.com using responsive design, making it user-friendly and readable on any screen. Up to 800,000 unique monthly visitors enjoy Chatelaine.com's delicious and easy triple-tested recipes, health and wellness advice, home decorating ideas, style tips and more. More than 40,000 follow the brand on social platforms such as Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter. Chatelaine on the tablet has 33,000 monthly visits, and has published 24 unique e-books and apps, including its Recipe Box iPad app, a one-of-kind culinary resource that brings fun, creativity and efficiency to planning and preparing meals. Among other events, it recently kicked off its signature Chatelaine Kitchen Chef Series, with celebrity chefs Nigella Lawson, Curtis Stone and Martha Stewart food editor Lucinda Scala Quinn in its newly renovated Chatelaine Kitchen powered by GE Café—and this week eagerly awaits the arrival of celebrity personal trainer Jillian Michaels.
Chatelaine Edition on Cityline is a monthly (approximately) episode that brings to life the pages of the magazine and features its home, food, health and style editors. Chatelaine will also have a radio presence later this year—and in the fall will be offering Canadian consumers a line of products, including housewares.
