MONTREAL, March 8, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - On the occasion of International Women's Day, Chez Doris, a day shelter for women in difficulty in Montreal, hosted a Makeover Day and Photo Shoot in collaboration with "1 Photograph", an organization co-founded by Eva Blue and Valérie Dubreuil that gives women the opportunity to present their best selves by offering professional photography and makeover services.
Chez Doris' arts & crafts room was transformed into a spa lounge, while ladies waited for their perfect look. A volunteer team comprised of fashion stylists, hair stylists, makeup artists, many of whom from Illusions Salon of Westmount, gave gorgeous makeovers for 10 women. They were photographed before and after their feel good transformation.
Participants included women affected by accidents, illnesses, mental health issues, poverty or homelessness. A mother and daughter who came together at the event had the chance to be photographed and said, "The whole experience made us feel good about ourselves and feel beautiful. It was a memorable day."
"Every woman deserves a little pampering and to feel attractive", says professional photographer and co-founder of 1 Photograph, Eva Blue. "We know we succeeded by the smiles on the faces of the women of Chez Doris! I'm so proud to be on a team of talented professionals who generously donated their Sunday to help lift spirits."
