MONTREAL, Nov. 30, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - After intermittent closures as well as partial closures due to major construction, from August 7 to November 30, Chez Doris, a day shelter for women in difficulty, will fully make available its building to its clientele on Friday, December 1. It will celebrate its grand re-opening with a bra give-away to it's clientele thanks to a donation made by Wacoal as well as other clothing provided by individual donors.
On Sunday, December 3, 2017, the public is also invited to see the building improvements during its holiday fair and open house. Clients of Chez Doris will showcase arts & crafts that they have made, which will include holiday cards, mittens and scarves, stone jewelry, and Aboriginal artisanry.
"We are truly delighted to finally complete our latest repairs to stabilize the structural integrity of the building, which included the replacement of foundation walls, the reconfiguration of our storage space for clothing and hygiene products, re-erecting a southern wall which had detached from the building and interior refinishing," said Talar Dikijian, President of Chez Doris. Marina Boulos added, "We are most appreciative of the financial support of those who contributed a total of $660,000 for all of the preparations and repairs".
