CH.I.L.D. Foundation set to celebrate the 20th Annual Doorman's Dinner at the
River Rock Casino Resort
VANCOUVER, Oct 7 /CNW/ - The CH.I.L.D. Foundation is pleased to announce that the Twentieth Annual Doorman's Dinner will be held at the River Rock Casino Resort Show Theatre on Friday, October 8.
This remarkable event is hosted by the Greater Vancouver Doormen's Association in efforts to raise funds for the CH.I.L.D. Foundation (The Foundation for Children with Intestinal & Liver Disorders). This year's "Honourary Doorman of the Year" Award is being presented to Ross J. McLeod, Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation.
"Mr. McLeod is an outstanding and very deserving Honouree, stated Mary Parsons, President and Chief Executive Officer of the CH.I.L.D. Foundation, "and we are so pleased to be celebrating his contribution to the community, to his many charitable causes, and for being part of British Columbia's entertainment and hospitality industry."
The past sixteen Honourees include Jimmy Pattison, O.C., O.B.C., Dal Richards, C.M., O.B.C., Peter Legge, O.B.C., Grace M. McCarthy, O.C., O.B.C., Jack Poole, O.C., O.B.C. and Bob Ackles.
The night begins with the colourful "Parade of Doormen" from British Columbia and Alberta. Emceeing the event will be Peter Legge and Red Robinson, Director of the CH.I.L.D. Foundation. Dal Richards and his Orchestra, along with the amazing "Four Tops" band will provide entertainment for the gala evening while Howard Blank, Vice President of Entertainment, Communications and Responsible Gambling at Great Canadian Gaming Corp. will be the guest Auctioneer.
The CH.I.L.D. Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure through research for children who suffer from Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis and liver disorders. These are debilitating conditions that permanently affect a child's quality of life.
