Children's aid staff rally to restore service hours to children
KITCHENER, ON, Nov. 17, 2017 /CNW/ - Frontline staff at Family and Children's Services of Waterloo Region will mark National Child Day with a rally to call on Queen's Park "to fix and fund" a provincial computer network that is taking direct service hours away from children and families.
Date: Monday, November 20, 2017
Time: 12 noon – 1 p.m.
Place: Family & Children's Services of Waterloo Region, 200 Ardelt Avenue, Kitchener
The province began rolling out the Child Protection Information Network (CPIN) in 2014 to improve information sharing among children's aid societies. But the glitch-filled system is forcing children's aid staff to spend more time on administrative tasks – and less time on direct service to children and families.
