Children's Wish selected as Charity of Choice by Wilson's Gas Stops

DARTMOUTH, ON, Sept 4, 2014 /CNW/ - Wilson's Fuel Co. Limited announced its selection of The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada as its charity of choice for its fundraising efforts over the next year throughout the next year.  The Wilsons Gas Stops / Esso gas and convenient locations under Wilsons expect to raise approximately $30,000 for Children's Wish through fundraising at the local stations.

In-store fundraising events will include:

• 50/50 draw (September 29th – October 5th)
• Round up days (November 17th – 23rd and March 23rd – 29th)
• Wilson's Wish Wednesday (Date to be announced)
• and several other in-store fundraising activities

"We are deeply grateful and pleased that Wilson's has chosen Children's Wish this year," commented Cheryl Matthews, Director of the Nova Scotia Chapter of Children's Wish.  "Their support will help ensure that children in the Atlantic Provinces diagnosed with a life-threatening illness can share the magical experience of a wish with their families."

The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada

Each year, thousands of Canadian children between the ages of three and 17 are diagnosed with a life threatening illness.  Since 1984, The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada has worked tirelessly to grant exceptional wishes to over 20,000 children and their families.

This year, the Foundation expects to grant over 1,000 new wishes and is proud to have never refused a wish to an eligible child, and with the help of volunteers and generous donors, is able to grant nearly three wishes every day.  Each wish is an individual adventure, carefully structured to meet the needs of a particular child and family.
