Chrysler Canada Sales up 34 per cent in November
- 12 consecutive months of year-over-year growth
- Total sales up 34 per cent in November
- Highest November retail sales since 2002

- Best month-of-November sales for Dodge Grand Caravan, Dodge Journey, Ram Pickup
WINDSOR, ON, Dec. 1 /CNW/ - Chrysler Canada today announced the company's 12th consecutive month of sales growth with sales of 15,308 units. This represents an increase of 34 per cent compared with November 2009, and 28 per cent calendar year to date (CYTD). Retail sales were up 80 per cent, for the best November retail results since 2002.
"We are on the home stretch of a very good year," said Reid Bigland, President and CEO of Chrysler Canada. "Production at our Canadian plants is up 76 per cent, sales are up 28 per cent, and we have 14 new products starting to launch."
Three vehicles, the Dodge Grand Caravan, Dodge Journey, and Ram pickup, posted their best-ever results for the month of November. The Dodge Grand Caravan, Canada's No. 3 selling vehicle, recorded sales of 4,413, an increase of 29 per cent compared with November 2009. Sales of the Dodge Journey, Canada's best-selling crossover, gained 30 per cent on sales of 2,146 units. The Ram pickup posted sales of 4,372 units, up 138 per cent over 2009. In addition, sales of the award-winning Ram Heavy Duty surged 296 per cent in November.
"The diesel technology we invested in the Ram Heavy Duty is really paying off," said Dave Buckingham, Vice President of Sales, Chrysler Canada. "Unlike with our competitors, our truck buyers don't have the expense or inconvenience of having to fill a separate urea tank in their vehicle."
Jeep® Brand vehicles had a very strong month, as the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee continues to arrive in dealerships across the country. Sales of the Jeep Grand Cherokee soared 121 per cent with 984 units sold, the third consecutive month of growth more than 100 per cent. The Jeep Wrangler increased 41 per cent on sales of 646 units, and sales of the Jeep Patriot were up 68 per cent with 975 units sold.
The Brampton, Ontario-built Dodge Challenger posted a sales increase of 12 per cent on sales of 123 units. Calendar year to date, sales of this legendary vehicle are up 19 per cent.
