CI Financial reports assets under management

TORONTO, June 1, 2016 /CNW/ - CI Financial Corp. ("CI") today reported assets under management at May 31, 2016 of $110.6 billion and total assets of $146.1 billion.

Assets under management increased by $2.2 billion or 2.1% in the month of May and were flat year over year. Total assets gained $3.1 billion in May and were up 0.9% year over year. Meanwhile, the S&P/TSX Composite Index was up 1.0% in May and declined 3.3% over the 12-month period.

Average assets under management for the quarter-to-date were $108.8 billion, representing an increase of $1.5 billion or 1.4% from the average for the first quarter of 2016.

CI reported assets under advisement at Assante Wealth Management (Canada) Ltd. and Stonegate Private Counsel of $35.5 billion at May 31, 2016, an increase of 2.5% in May and 3.7% year over year.

CI will hold its annual meeting of shareholders on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 4 p.m. Eastern time at its offices at 15 York Street, Second Floor, in Toronto.
