TORONTO, June 30, 2016 /CNW/ - CI Investments Inc. ("CI") today announced that 1832 Asset Management L.P. has been appointed portfolio sub-advisor to a portion of CI Income Fund, a multi-asset, multi-manager income fund.
CI Income Fund has an objective to provide exposure to a diversified portfolio of income-generating securities in a manner that is similar to holding multiple income-generating funds. The portfolio includes investment-grade Canadian and global government and corporate bonds, as well as other income-generating securities such as preferred and common equities and real estate investment trusts.
The portion of the portfolio managed by 1832 Asset Management will focus on publicly listed global infrastructure securities. Lead portfolio managers are Jason Gibbs and Frank Latshaw. The appointment, which is effective today, increases the diversification of the fund's lineup of portfolio managers and of the securities within the portfolio.
CI Income Fund is overseen by the award-winning CI Investment Consulting team, which is responsible for asset allocation and manager monitoring. Signature Global Asset Management, Cambridge Global Asset Management and Marret Asset Management Inc. will continue as managers of their portions of the fund's portfolio. CI Investment Consulting is responsible for approximately $34 billion in assets, including the Portfolio Series and Portfolio Select Series programs.
