CI Investments' managed solutions receive industry recognition

TORONTO, Nov. 28, 2013 /CNW/ - The industry-leading quality of CI Investments' managed solutions was recognized for a third consecutive year at the Morningstar Awards, which honour excellence in the Canadian financial services industry.

Portfolio Select Series was named Best Fund of Funds at last night's 2013 Morningstar Awards. Another CI managed solution, Portfolio Series, was selected Best Fund of Funds in 2012 and in 2011, the first year that an award was presented for this category.

CI's other 2013 Morningstar Award winners are Black Creek International Equity Fund, which was selected Best International Equity Fund, and CI Global Health Sciences Corporate Class, which was named Best Specialty Equity Fund.

Portfolio Select Series is a comprehensive investment program offering nine managed portfolios to meet the individual needs of investors. As part of CI's Corporate Class structure, it offers a high level of tax efficiency for non-registered accounts. Portfolio Select Series and other CI managed solutions are managed by CI Investment Consulting, an in-house team of asset allocation experts led by Portfolio Manager Alfred Lam.

Black Creek International Equity Fund is managed by Richard Jenkins of Black Creek Investment Management Inc., which has established an excellent track record in global investing since its founding in 2005. Mr. Jenkins has over 30 years of investment management experience that includes award-winning results at Black Creek and at his previous firm, where his funds were the recipients of five Morningstar Awards from 2004 to 2006.

CI Global Health Sciences Corporate Class is managed by Andrew Waight of Altrinsic Global Advisors, LLC. Mr. Waight has been portfolio manager of the fund since 1999 and has specialized in global health care since 1992.
