CIBC launches new TV commercials to support broadcast sponsorship of 2010
FIFA World Cup(TM)
New TV commercials begin airing on June 11 to coincide with CIBC National Customer Appreciation Day
TORONTO, June 10 /CNW/ - Beginning June 11, 2010, CIBC (TSX, NYSE: CM) will begin airing a new series of TV commercials supporting its broadcast sponsorship of the 2010 FIFA World Cup(TM) as well as its highly successful SWITCH and brand campaigns.
"These new ads capture the excitement of international soccer and the thrill of cheering on your favourite team with your friends, family and community," said Stephen Forbes, Executive Vice-President, CIBC Marketing, Communications and Public Affairs. "The whole world is anxiously anticipating the start of the games and we're proud to promote this spirit of competition."
Three new 15-second animated commercials celebrate the excitement, energy and passion of soccer fans and feature a roaring stadium representing the broad audience of soccer fans from Canada's many diverse communities.
In addition to these animated spots, CIBC is also building on its existing brand campaign with a new 30-second commercial featuring CIBC employees from across the country telling us which national soccer teams they are cheering for.
In concert with the TV commercials, CIBC is continuing to promote its highly successful SWITCH campaign which features compelling reasons for consumers to switch their mortgages, everyday banking accounts, credit cards and business banking. The campaign also supports CIBC's leading online and mobile banking capabilities.
"We have had tremendous feedback from our SWITCH campaign as well as our national brand campaign," added Mr. Forbes. "We believe these newest commercials will continue the positive momentum that we have been building for the past nine months and that these new spots will continue to resonate loudly with our clients and our employees."
As proud broadcast sponsor of the 2010 FIFA World Cup(TM) in partnership with CBC, SRC, TLN and Fairchild-Talentvision, these ads will air during live games and repeats throughout the duration of the tournament from June 11 to July 11 in English and French, as well as in Spanish, Italian, Mandarin and Cantonese on select network broadcasts.
The new TV commercials complement CIBC's broader initiatives to promote the broadcasts of the games, including: special contests and promotions; print, online and in-branch advertising; soccer merchandise; and a national tour celebrating soccer across the country at CIBC branches and local tournaments and festivals.
