New headquarters designed to foster greater collaboration for employees
TORONTO, June 14, 2017 /CNW/ - CIBC Mellon is moving its headquarters to 1 York Street, at the corner of York and Harbour Streets in Toronto's South Core business district. The company's newly-constructed downtown Toronto office was designed as part of CIBC Mellon's ongoing investment in fostering a great employee experience, with features such as bright open-concept workspaces, an array of employee amenities, and an even closer connection to Toronto's Union Station transit hub and underground PATH walkway.
The company is transferring all of its employees from its former downtown Toronto headquarters at 320 Bay Street, while continuing to recruit diverse talent for its offices in Toronto, Mississauga and across Canada. CIBC Mellon's move to One York entails relocating more than 900 Toronto-based employees – the first two phases of the move have been completed, with the remainder of the team moving in phases in late June and early July.
"Selecting this dynamic, prime location is a substantial investment in our company's future," said Steven Wolff, President and Chief Executive Officer, CIBC Mellon. "The new location of our headquarters highlights our commitment to providing our employees with a modern and collaborative work experience."
"The employee experience is a key priority for CIBC Mellon and this was a primary consideration for our relocation," said Maple Tam, Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer, CIBC Mellon. "We have designed the new workspace to reflect our culture where collaboration, innovation and commitment to excellent client service come together."
Among the features of CIBC Mellon's new office at One York, the company's employees will have access to an outdoor terrace, with picturesque views of the cityscape and waterfront, a reflection room, an employee lounge, and many areas for informal collaboration.
