CIMA president in Toronto for CIMA Mayor's Trophy 2013
TORONTO, June 25, 2013 /CNW/ - Toronto Police cricket team won the CIMA Mayor's Trophy for 2013 in an exciting match today with the CIBC cricket team. The employee cricket team from Rogers Communications won the CIMA Media Trophy and KPMG won the CIMA Accountants' Trophy.
Among the many enthusiastic spectators at the event, held in Sunnybrook Park, were Mayor Rob Ford, Malcolm Furber President of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Raza Hasan, Senior Vice President of CIBC, Mahes Wickramasinghe, Senior Vice President Rogers and News Talk 1010 host John Tory. The event is held in partnership with CIMA. CIBC, Rogers, Newstalk 1010, ONESTOP Network , Tom's Place and several other community partners joined CIMA in supporting this year's event.
"The 9th annual CIMA Mayor's Trophy has drawn prominent Torontonians to the cricket field, showcasing the importance of cricket in connecting diverse communities," said Mayor Rob Ford. "The sport of cricket is gaining new players and great popularity every year in Toronto."
"Since its launch in 2005, CIMA Mayor's Trophy has helped bring a diverse group of community partners together. The success of this event has helped CIMA assist aspiring young cricketers to fulfill their dreams," said Michael Lam, Deputy Chair CIMA Canada.
The Mayor's Trophy, with the help of a myriad of sponsors and community partners, helps to bring cricket to the broader Toronto community.

Another CIMA initiative, the third annual CIMA Mayor's School Cricket Tournament for the CIBC Trophy, was played in May of this year.
